Kalimat.chat always encrypts your media — and unlike most platforms, it tells you exactly how much, live, with an in-meeting security badge derived from the actual state of the room.
Encryption by call type
Free 1-on-1 P2P calls are end-to-end encrypted, with media traveling directly between the two browsers. 1-on-1 Featured calls, Group meetings, and Webinars are encrypted in transit, with end-to-end encryption available as an option when you create the meeting.
How end-to-end encryption works here
With E2EE active, audio and video frames are encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before they leave your device; Kalimat's servers relay data they cannot read. The meeting key rotates when someone leaves, chat is encrypted in the browser too, and a spoken security code lets participants verify nobody is intercepting the call.
Short retention, your storage
Meeting content — chat, transcripts, summaries — is deleted from Kalimat's servers about 30 minutes after the meeting ends. Recordings are saved to your own device, in the folder you choose.
